Celebrities visit the “Monty”

Timothy West and his wife Prunella Scales today visited the Montgomery Canal and enjoyed a boat trip along the restored Llanymynech section aboard the narrow-boat George Watson Buck to help promote this year’s Montgomery Canal Festival (Monty 08), after first visiting some of the sites of achievement on the northern sections of the canal.
(Timothy, a well known canal enthusiast, is vice-president of the Waterways Trust, vice-president of the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust and patron of the Huddersfield Canal Society).

After the boat trip, the couple visited Canal Central at Maesbury where they met up with other canal enthusiasts for further talks and refreshment.
