Powys County Council have organised a Trail Tempters walk around the village of Berriew to include a walk along the towpath of the Montgomery Canal.
Meet at 10am at the canalside car park/picnic site at Berriew. The walk is 6-7 miles long and will probably take 3 hrs as there are some hills and stiles involved.

Meeting at the Narrowboat Inn, Ellesmere Rd. Whittington at 8pm.
A talk, “The Genesis of the Llangollen Canal” by canal historian and former branch chairman, Peter Brown.
He will explain why a canal intended to go from south to north
finished up as one going from west to east, and will show that, contrary to
popular belief, Thomas Telford was not the canal's engineer.
Admission is Free and all are welcome.
