“Friends” 20th January 2007 Walk.
The well attended walk and lunch, organised by Judith Richards, was this time held over a section of the Llangollen canal. Starting and finising at the Narrowboat Inn, Maestermyn.
The morning was cold and breezy but the sun shone through a clear blue sky as a group of between twenty and thirty “friends” met at the Narrowboat Inn for their January walk.
Leaving Maestermyn, the group walked the towpath heading for New Marton Locks.
The recent gales had left their mark on the area as can be seen in this photo  where a tree has fallen, completely blocking both canal and towpath.

Not to be beaten by this ‘minor’ obstacle, the group pushed their way past its broken roots and continued towards their goal of the locks at New Marton.
After passing the locks at New Marton, the first of the group gathered together for  photo’s.
Seen below are the first of the group gathered on top of Bridge No. 12.

The “friends” then headed downstream for lunch at the “Narrowboat”  arriving back just in time as the weather then broke and the rain came in around 1-0 o’clock .
Everyone of the “friends” , old and new, enjoyed  the  outing and are looking  forward to the coming years events.
