GRONWEN/REDWITH  now in water.

Restoration of the Gronwen to Redwith section was started Nov. 2006 and
re-watered in October 2007 (after being ‘dry’ for 50 years).
A new lift bridge was constructed near to Morton Farm and an old coal
wharf near to Redwith was restored.

At Gronwen Bridge .
The scene after re-watering.
The earth dam has been removed and a temporary footbridge installed.
Stop planks are inserted temporarily below the bridge.

Leaving Gronwen.
A new towpath has been constructed and the piling installed along the banks is now covered by “puddle”.Reed “pockets” are seen on the off-side bank.

The towpath construction and re-building of the stone wharf wall is complete .

The approach to Redwith Road Bridge.
A new towpath has been installed as far as this area.
A temporary dam and stop planks have also been installed.
